Constructed after a previous bridge was swept away in the 1934 floods, Kanes Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing the Yarra River with timber suspension towers on either side. The deck is suspended from steel tensioned cables hung from the towers and has timber cross-patterned balustrading. The image shows bluestone benches on either side at the beginning of the bridge.
