America is a nation blessed with fields and orchards that, thanks to the attentive gardening and farming efforts of many, yield their bounty each year. In this program we visit various communities to celebrate a variety of harvests. One of the most popular foods to eat during the summer months is delicious sweet corn. We discover this crop is the agriculture jewel of Olathe, Colorado, which even holds its own Sweet Corn Festival each year. Next we see specialty cut flowers have become an important item found in practically every supermarket throughout the country. Honeybees are a major pollinator of many of our food crops; plus we rely on them for honey; so on our next stop we visit a beekeeper and discover process of getting honey. Next we visit Carlson Vineyards, a small farm winery in Colorado's Grand Valley, where Parker and Mary Carlson have perfected the art of making wine fine. We conclude our tour of Palisade, which is situated at the base of the Grand Mesa on the Colorado River, and world famous for its delicious peaches.
