A young Australian Army officer is rescued on the battlefield by a Warramunga Aboriginal NCO and they form a strong friendship. They are both conscripted by MI6 to work in Cairo against the Germans, and they help the local police try to find a rapist and killer, one of their own. After the war, they work for the Commonwealth Investigation Service in Australia and use the Warramunga tracking skills to locate the same killer and his murderous gang.
