Breaking the silences that help perpetuate collective and personal trauma, Leaf in the Wind reclaims forgotten chapters of Cameroonian colonial and postcolonial history and the broken lives and untold stories behind it. Executed in 1971 by the Cameroonian authorities, freedom fighter Ernest Ouandie left behind a daughter he never met. Reopening the Ouandie archive, Leaf in the Wind restores his memory through the eyes of Ernestine, his daughter, in a testimony to her own scarred and tragic life. Is sacrifice the price of freedom?
