José, an Argentine journalist exiled in Mexico, receives a phone call. Carmen, the woman he loved ten years ago, asks him for help from Zacatecas, and he rushes to her. They have killed her husband, with three bullets, in their doorway. He soon realises that they are both in danger, and decides not to flee, facing violence and crime.
