Photograph of the casket and some of those in attendance at the funeral of Cr. Alan C. Bird taken outside the Northcote Methodist Church (Wesleyan Church, 251 High St). Cr. Bird was Mayor of Northcote in 1939/40 and again in 1958/59, whilst also serving as the MP for Batman, a position he was elected to in 1949. He was elected to the council at age 24 and would serve on it until his death at age 55.
