Digital image of 44 Park Crescent Fairfield, corner view. Built by Essendon Football Club player Albert Thurgood, considered one of the great champion players of the VFL, and named for his Canadian wife’s birthplace, Ontario was built in 1903 and is a large brick Federation Edwardian house with half-timber half roughcast projected gables, tapered stucco columns and fretted verandah frieze, terracotta ridge tiles and finials on the roof, double hung sash windows and a tall chimneys with terracotta pots.
